Am I going to be on TRT forever?
Many patients stay on a protocol long-term because the underlying cause (aging, environmental, metabolic) doesn't reverse on its own. But "forever" is not the same as "set-and-forget." We titrate your dose based on labs every 30–60 days, and some patients transition off with a post-therapy protocol when their goals change. This is a conversation you'll have with your clinician — not a marketing promise.
What if my total T is "in range"?
"In range" is the #1 reason men are dismissed by their primary care. Lab reference ranges are based on all men, including 80-year-olds and untreated Low T patients — which skews "normal" low. A total T of 280 ng/dL is technically in range, but clinically it's the level of a much older man. We look at total T, free T, estradiol, SHBG, and symptoms together — not one number in isolation.
What are the real side effects?
We don't soft-pedal this. Common effects include elevated hematocrit (blood thickness), acne, water retention, mood fluctuation during titration, and for some men, testicular atrophy or fertility impact.
